As the founder and the current administrator of the Santa Barbara Rivian club, I am writing this note to share an important update and opportunity.
While I initially observed promising momentum when I launched this club in autumn 2023, the engagement level of our members has significantly declined in recent months. Despite my efforts to organize events for Rivian aficionados to meet and share experiences — ranging from local “car and coffee chats” to planned day trips, among others — these efforts have not garnered the expected engagement.
Given this situation, along with my limited bandwidth to manage the various tasks required to run the club entirely on my own, I have decided to reach out to see if there is a passionate Rivian enthusiast interested in taking over the administration and management of our club.
This transition presents an exciting chance for someone to shape the future of our local Rivian community. Ideally, I’m looking to transfer ownership of all our web presences, including our accounts on Instagram, X, on Facebook, the newsletter as well as this website.
However, I’m open to discussing alternative arrangements that might better suit the new administrator’s vision and capabilities. For instance, a new owner/operator may prefer to focus solely on maintaining and growing our Facebook group.
If you are passionate about further growing a community of EV enthusiasts who share a passion for the Rivian brand, I encourage you to reach out. Please send a message expressing your interest to contact@santabarbararivianclub.com by September 30, 2024, end of day (the latest).
Should no interested parties come forward by the deadline, I regret to inform you that all the presences will be deleted after September 20, and the Santa Barbara Rivian club will cease to exist.
